MaxDiff
Maximum difference scaling. Respondents pick the best and worst item from small sets, which produces a ranked list with real spacing.
MaxDiff fixes the problem with rating scales, where everything is 'important'. Respondents have to choose a best and a worst across many small sets, which produces a reliable ranking of claims, features or messages.
It is quick to field and simple to explain. That makes it a favourite for message prioritisation and a good candidate for a self-serve tool.
