Hours returned
A measure of insights value, counted as the operator hours given back by automating a recurring task.
Hours returned counts the time someone no longer spends on a recurring manual task because an insights engineer turned it into a system. It is measured against that person's own baseline, not an industry benchmark. If the Thursday deck took a day and a half to rebuild and now builds itself, that is a day and a half given back.
It is one of the two headline numbers for an insights engineer, alongside decisions changed. Neither one counts studies completed or slides delivered.
